the daily do – fashion week {hair review}

Last week marked the end of New York Fashion Week for the Spring ’16 collections. As a little girl (and let’s be honest, until basically a few years ago) it was confusing to me to see images of Fashion Week with clothing that in no way matched the current season. Although clothing-wise, we have to wait till spring to see many of the trends carry through, beauty inspiration from the runway is instant!

It is a bit overwhelming to look through all the runway shows and focus not only on the clothing but the hair and beauty trends. Not to fear, your TDD team is here! So lets break down the biggest hair trends this season, shall we?

Big Volume Curls

Big Volume Curts

Who doesn’t love romantic, side-swept curls? We saw this fun, flirty, look on the Diane von Furstenburg runway (you probably saw pictures of Kendall Jenner/Gigi Hadid) but this would be a great evening look for all your holiday parties. When getting your blowout at TDD ask for “The Showstopper” to replicate this hairstyle. Consider a sparkly clip or flower to take it to the next level.

Beachy Waves

Sticking with the romantic, undone hair theme, NYFW also had plenty of soft waves and low volume hair on the runway. Achieve this look by requesting “The Gypsy” for a middle part and a subtle wave that has lots of movement. The key for beachy waves is flexible hairspray so you hair is as touchable as it looks.

Tousled Ponytail

Tousled Ponytail

The last big hair trend on the runway was lots and lots of ponytails. The ponytail is great because it can look so many different ways whether it is sleek and high or low and wispy. For the most part, designers stuck with low, middle-parted ponys that had body and just a touch of wave. Afraid to tackle this look at home? Ask your stylist for “The Carefree” to achieve this look but be sure to specify a low pony and middle part! We love the fedora hat and hair wrapped ponytail to top off the look.

It is clear to see the overarching theme of this Fashion Week was a natural, soft, hair style that really sets you up to embrace your natural beauty. Want more hair inspiration for your next visit to The Daily Details? Follow our Pinterest page for all our favorite hair looks!
